











Kannon-ji temple is located in Shinjuku, one of the most important districts of Tokyo -known worldwide for its famous railway station, the world's most used, with an average of 3 million users at the station daily-. The temple, completed in 1994, was designed by architect Osamu Ishiyama along with a group of architects from Waseda University in Tokyo. The contemporary architecture of the temple though, does not deny the Japanese tradition, highlighting the contrast between the complex exterior design to the quiet and almost minimalist interior design.
